Time for Writers to Unite

In an ever-changing world of cinema, television, and film production, we the writers must change too. With streaming services popping up all over the place NetflixHulu, Crave, Amazon Prime, Disney + Apple TV+, the list goes on from apps to video on demand, cable companies versions of streaming channels… YouTube, Facebook T.V., etc., you get the idea. My head is spinning, trying to find all the different platforms.

What does this mean to writers?

Everything! Here let’s take a closer look. In the past, these companies have been sharing content, T.V. shows, classic movies, and blockbusters. However, with Disney and Apple creating their streaming networks, they will be pulling their content from other systems and creating a hole that will need filling, creating demand for writers who have exceptional scripts or screenplays written. Based on recent industry news articles, you will note there is no shortage of stories, videos, blogs, and insider scoops on this topic. 2020 is going to be a massive year for the film industry overall. What does this mean for you and your career in film? Read on.

How do you get noticed when there are already so many accomplished writers working?

Here’s how: join an alliance of writers who all have the same goal. Many go to Hollywood and join studio writing programs. Many great writers get work in the industry this way. What if you are not in a position to leave your home or your family.

Then maybe this is the right place for you.
